Back to School Backpacks Going “Green”

On the Today Show, Sunday, August 23, 2013 was someone from a company called “Terracycle.”  From its website:

TerraCycle upcycles and recycles traditionally non-recycable waste (including drink pouches, chip bags, tooth brushes and many more) into a large variety of consumer products. These products keep waste out of our landfills and contribute to a cleaner world. TerraCycle products are available at a wide range of major retailers from WalMart to Target as well.

Every year BILLIONS of drink pouches end up in dumpsters and landfills across America. TerraCycler, Capri Sunr and Honest Kidsr are working together to put an end to this tremendous loss of resources. As an eco-friendly innovator, TerraCycler converts pre and post-consumer drink pouch waste material into cool new upcycled products.

They sell backpacks, lunch boxes, pencil cases and other items made from recycled Capri Sun containers, Lays Potato Chips bags, etc.  They are colorful and cool and range from $7 to $30.

Wow!  Back to school, and green too.  And reasonable in cost! What
