Our New Standard: Fit for Royalty

It has always been this Grandma’s opinion that the “royalty” in America are the actors and actresses whose pictures we see every day.  Americans seem to want to buy what they buy, dress children in what they dress children, name children what they name children, and even have children out of wedlock because it is acceptable among the stars.

However, Hilary Duff, Jessica Alba, Beyonce, Kristen Bell, and Anna Paquin were not enough to sell out a blanket for a little known company, Aden + Anais, started by an Australian mother.  That took real royalty.

The Miami Herald, July 29, 2013, reported that the swaddling blanket that was wrapped around baby Prince George by Will and Kate when they brought him home from the hospital, a 100% cotton muslin “Jungle Jam” swaddle with birds costing $18 is sold out.

However going on the website, it seems they are available, so the company must have done some quick restocking! Go to Aden + Anais.

This is how the  products are described:

Our 100% natural cotton muslin swaddles are a must have because of their breathability, generous size, multiple uses including + stroller cover + burp cloth + nursing shield + summertime and tummy time blanket + change table cover+ portable crib sheets, to name a few! And, the more you wash our swaddles, the softer they get. Known for our unique, contemporary designs our classic collections are absolute mummy musts.

This is how they describe the organic products they make:

With the same incredible softness of all other aden + anais products, these 100% organic swaddles begin with fully certified organic cotton that is grown and manufactured in an environmentally and socially responsible manner. If you are passionate about organic products, yet still desire the high-quality, signature softness of aden + anaisr products, then these swaddles are for you. As with all aden + anais muslin, the more you wash these beautiful organic blankets, the softer they get.

This company should now do well.  If I had a new grandbaby, I would check out these reasonably priced items.

The media is saying everything British is now in vogue for our American babies.  I guess we can now expect an increase in the number of American children named George!

Joy,

Mema
