Our Second Outstanding Stay with Extraordinary Service at the Iconic and Exceptional King David in Jerusalem and Best Tips for Your Stay With Children and Teens

When you stay at the King David, it is staying at a Jerusalem icon and it is an experience during which you are spoiled. As with the top hotels in the world, one understands that there are very few at a high price worthy of a splurge, and the

King David is one of those places. Pure joy is being able to experience it twice, where you cannot believe you will be treated even better than the first time. And you are. Every upgrade, which those of us who travel often know are “upon availability,” the King David will definitely try make happen, if they can.

The King David is elegant ambiance without stuffiness. It’s public rooms, huge sectioned pool with different levels, and beautiful pool area, are welcoming. There is even a children’s pool, playground, and ping pong. Yes, there are even tennis courts, making this a complete resort within short walking distance to the Old City and Western Wall, and everything Jerusalem has to offer. The Mamilla Mall, a few blocks away, is virtually your pathway to all you will want to experience in the Old City, and the mall itself is walking through history as the buildings have numbers where historic structures were rebuilt as part of the mall structure. At the end of the mall are stairs which bring you to the Jaffa Gate to Old Jerusalem. The Sound and Light at the Tower of David is just beyond. Compare the King David’s location and accompanying amenities to any other hotel in Jerusalem and none can compete.  Children and adults alike will appreciate its close proximity to everything you want to see, and close restaurants with children’s menus and an ice cream store.

The guest rooms are beautiful, with modern amenities and generous extras and gifts. Cookies, grapes, and other snacks and treats and sparkling and still water were awaiting us in our room. The King David included a sampling of Israeli children’s chips and candy for our granddaughter. Electronic day and night shutters, light switches and air conditioning controls on the side of each headboard, lighted magnifying mirrors (which we women know are appreciated), Frette (even down to table napkins in the dining room), robes and slippers (even for our granddaughter), luxury bath products, and more make your accommodations luxurious. If you can make the splurge, the Old City view is spectacular, day and night.  There are family rooms, with a living room (with bed for child) and a separate king bedroom.

The staff cares about the guest, not just giving lip service to a request. Families as well as couples are catered to. Our waiter made sure that our granddaughter with limited breakfast desires was satisfied with her special food and drink requests. Even with the huge breakfast buffet, they make sure the children are happy. The fresh fruit ice pops at the pool are a great hit.   Every desire is anticipated and more.

Yes, become an on line Dan Hotels member just to stay here. You will receive notices of specials and, as a Dan member, you get discounts and extras, and on line prices and amenities that cannot be beaten or matched elsewhere. I tried. An extra special tip: for Dan members, once a year around cyber Monday in November, Dan Hotels offers huge discounted offers, the King David included. Join Dan and mark your calendars for the splurge holiday gift to yourself and those you love to experience Jerusalem as it should be experienced at the King David.

You just say “King David” because it is so much more than a hotel. You too will be able to watch the 3D movie at the City of David, and see the King David appear in the history of Jerusalem as the historic icon it is. As our granddaughter remarked, and we got to stay there.

Joy,

Mema
