A dear long (we never say old) grandma friend sends me a picture of her youngest granddaughter each month. The adorable baby girl is wearing a onesie (one piece baby suit) in each picture that has a number and design of the month of her age, one month birthday, two month birthday, etc. It is wonderful to see how much she grows and changes month to month.
When we spoke, I asked where her daughter-in-law found the specially decorated onesies and she explained that the baby is in a plain white onesie with a belly sticker one it. Of course, I immediately went on Amazon and, sure enough, the belly stickers are easy to find.

Or for boys:
Or for girls:
There are even belly stickers for holidays, where you can take a picture of the baby in a onesie with the holiday sticker:
My grandma friend said that her daughter-in-law was so clever. She planned the twelve pictures in advance, putting a giant floor teddy bear on her baby registry so she could place the baby next to the teddy bear in each picture to chronicle her growth next to the same stuffed animal each month. I agree that this is a brilliant idea. The teddy bear was actually part of a baby gift from me and another dear long (we never say old) friend from the baby registry.
There are so many choices for giant stuffed animals, to match any baby room decor or interest. They are mostly reasonable in price, considering their size. I love getting ideas from the young mothers of this generation. This makes for a great creative gift from grandma with a practical side giving sets of onesies in each size for the first year. We Boomer Grandmas remember how much we loved onesies and their ease. Yes, for the parents of our grandchildren, onesies did exist when you all were babies. One can never have enough onesies:
This combined gift also makes for a wonderful holiday present or ba
by shower gift or idea to keep photographs for the baby’s first photo album from grandma and share with
Joy,
Mema
