How to Rename the “Better Than Sex” Chocolate Cake for Grandchildren

This Grandma’s favorite is chocolate.  Yes, anything chocolate.  When my daughter was a baby, I would heat up hot fudge and I would have one taste and give the baby the other.  Who knew back then about not giving chocolate until a baby was one!  She still loves chocolate and is fine.


The absolute best chocolate cake has an X rated name –“the Better than Sex Chocolate Cake.”  I have spent hours trying to think of a new name before I make it with my grandchildren.  What about the Better Than Staying Up Past Bedtime Chocolate Cake?  What about the better than Ice Cream Chocolate Cake?  Finally, I decided.  Here is the recipe for the


Better Than Anything in the World Chocolate Cake


Ingredients:

1        box butter recipe devil’s food chocolate cake mix

12     ounce package semi sweet chocolate chips

4        serving package instant chocolate pudding mix

1         cup sour cream

4        large eggs

½       cup vegetable oil

1/4     cup water

1    teaspoon vanilla extract

Favorite chocolate frosting or glaze ( for the glaze: 12 ounce package chocolate chips, 1 cup water, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Directions:

  • Toss one half of the chocolate chips with 2 tablespoons of cake mix and set aside.  In a large bowl, combine the remaining cake mix, the pudding mix, the sour cream, the eggs, oil, water and vanilla.  Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for three minutes.  With a rubber spatula, mix in the chocolate chip mixture.  Mix in rest of chocolate chips.

  • Grease and flour a ten inch tube or Bundt pan.  Pour in the cake mixture and bak at 350 degree preheated oven for one ho7ur or until cake tests done.  Cool on pan for 15 minutes.

  • Cool completely before frosting or glazing.  To make glaze:  combine chocolate chips with 1 cup water in the microwave.  Heat on 50% heat for thirty seconds, stir and continue until melted. Remove from microwave and cool until slightly thickened, and spoon over cake.



Remember, when baking or cooking with grandchildren, to first cover counters and the floor with old towels for easy cleanup.  Talk about measuring.  Talk about ingredients.  Divide chores by age of the grandchildren.  Then eat this calorie laden better than anything cake with
