The 2015 Best Holiday Gifts For Grandma From Grandchildren

This Grandma does not want grandchildren to spend much money on a holiday gift. Previous posts recommend a photograph of the grandchild in an inexpensive frame, or a puzzle. See this post.

Then two sources of valuable information for this Grandma each had an excellent idea. Again, the ideas are great, one less expensive than the other.

Oprah listed many items in her favorite things for 2015 in The Oprah Magazine, but one stood out to this Grandma:

Touch Sensor Pocket Gloves

These are micro fleece, machine washable, and allow grandma to use a touch screen advice without removing the gloves. They also include a zippered pocket to hold cash or a credit card for a quick errand without having to carry a purse. Best of all, they come in a rainbow of colors, allowing the grandchild to pick grandma’s favorite color or the child’s favorite color for grandma to wear. They are $24 at TravelSmith. And yes, www.retailmenot has coupon codes for percentage and shipping discounts for TravelSmith right now. Always check Retail Me Not before buying anything on line.

The Skimm (this Grandma’s favorite way to keep up with the news the way the mothers of our grandchildren are doing so at www.skimm.com) had a suggestion that is much more expensive, but clever for the grandma who cooks (not this Grandma, who makes reservations).

Clever Kitchen Tablet Holders

The Skimm suggests a cutting board with a built-in ipad holder to give easy access to all recipes called the iBlock Cutting Board, made in New York, N.Y. by Brooklyn Butcher Blocks. The cutting board is reversible enabling you to use one side for raw proteins and then flip it over and use the other side for produce and other items. It has a raised back as a stop to keep the cutting board flush against the edge of a counter when cutting. It is made from U.S. grown maple wood, is waterproof, and has a 18″x12″x2″ cutting surface. If you mention

The Skimm, there is a discount.

This Grandma found two less expensive alternatives. The first is the Belkin Kitchen Stand and Wand/Sylus for Tablets. It is compact, sits on the countertop and has a magnetic tipped stylus when hands are messy. It holds tablets in or out of cases and is hand washable. Buy at Amazon:

For those grandmas who have limited counter space, there is the Fleximounts Kitchen Mount Tablet Holder Floor Stand. The reviews are five star.

The true five star gift from grandchildren is a personal visit to allow for many hugs and kisses and will be loved by grandma any time of the year. When that cannot be accomplished, a personal picture or card drawn and colored by the grandchild will be treasured by grandma forever. Buy an inexpensive lucite frame to put in the grandchild’s work of art for display at grandma’s house.

Happy Holidays!

Joy,

Mema
